Fantastic service, Rachel from mather & Murray helped us all the way, let us know what was possible in terms of mortgage, explained process, sorted life insurance policies for us, even formally complained toInsurance company on our behalf for Delay in starting policies. She was on hand to answer questions, no question was a silly one. Response to emails was always swift and was kind to let us know when there would be a Delay due to being out of the office, but had someone look after our case while she was away. Used Rachel on two occasions before and really felt like she held our hand as always and is as excited as we were on completion of house purchase. Late in 2025 I began exploring the possibility of releasing capital from my property through Equity Release. I had downsized in 2021 into a property that has needed a lot of improvements, so has incurred loads of unavoidable expenses. I submitted an application to a well-known firm, but following the survey, it was rejected due to the percentage of single skin construction of the kitchen extension, which placed it out of their acceptable criteria. I hadn't foreseen such a complication. Fortunately, their financial advisor suggested that I contact Unbiased online, which I did, and they put me in touch wih Mather & Murray Financial. They appointed Rachel Hurron as my financial advisor. In our initial telephone conversation, I explained my previous difficulty, and she said she would pursue the potential options for me. It wasn't long before she ferreted out LiveMore, whose criteria was more flexible, but it would require both the minimum amount to be borrowed and the interest rate to be higher at a higher rate.I was relieved to hear that there was an option available. Their minimum loan requirement has actually been more sensible for my objectives. I have mentioned all this to encourage anyone who encounters any similar difficulties to not give up the search,Rachel, my advisor, has been an absolute star. She came to the house for some initial discussions regarding ER, which I was already fairly familiar with. She recorded all the information needed for my application, discussed my objectives, made suggestions and explained anything needing clarification. In addition, the home visit was also important, so that in viewing the property, she'd be better able to support my application with LiveMore. Subsequently, all our contacts have been online, and all documents were accessible for printing. I found her very professional, fully versed in all the perameters of the ER scenario, efficient and obviously enjoys her work. She is personable, communicative and always responded to my emails in good time. She was able to put me in touch with Equilaw, who arranged for a surveyor and handled all the legalities. Once the surveyor's report was favourable received, everything proceeded smoothly to completion. I owe a great deal of thanks to Rachel for facilitating everything from start to finish. She is a great asset to Mather and Murray Financial, a firm I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone requiring professional financial services. MRR

As an Expat, I was experiencing unreasonably difficult obstacles to overcome in the quest to start receiving my personal pension fund. 'Moneyhelper' and 'Pensionwise' were quite frankly just frustrating! Ok, they give you some good advice to avoid scams etc but when it comes to actually finding a company that will accept to pay an Expat an annuity you consistently run into the following caveat, "I'm sorry but we are only allowed to give you impartial advice." This gets you nowhere and when you start contacting companies for yourself you run into an impenetrable wall of, ' We don't provide annuities to Expats.' Well great! So, thankfully Mather & Murray managed to find me in the maze inquiries I'd left behind. After some initial background checks, I was quickly assured that I could trust the company and I'm so pleased that I did.Kate Ricks handled my file and broke down the wall of bureaucracy efficiently and with a friendly professional ease that made the whole process quick, pleasant and far more financially interesting than I had even heard about before being rejected, due to being an Expat, by other companies and funds previously.So, a great big thank you to Kate and the team at Mather & Murray for such a great experience and beneficial result!

I had multiple private pensions that needed to be gathered together and a plan made. I used the Unbiased website as I have little knowledge of financial advisors in my area (South Wales) the website found a company in Swindon called Mather & Murray. Following a call from them the whole process was explained and that at all times I was in control of what happens. I was teamed up with Steve Archer who I found to be very knowledgeable and helpful.At all times there was absolutely no pressure to stay with them or to make any speedy decisions. I found the whole experience was very pleasant and we ended up with what I consider a good plan for my pensions. They also provide on going support. At a time of financial uncertainty with potential redundancy, I was recommended the services of Mather & Murray. I had an initial telephone call with Kate, one of their financial advisers, who listened carefully to my situation and asked all the right questions.After providing some information we arranged to meet and she was quickly able to offer options and advice, reassuring me that my finances could be made to work even if I did face job loss. Sarah was amazing in helping me purchase my first property. Very knowledgeable in what she was doing, where as I was not as this was my first experience buying and setting up a mortgage! Sarah did everything for me and she was very patient, explained everything and answered every question and concern I had. I needed help with understanding my UK employment pension (USS), and Helen Quayle did two things that really impressed me: first, she was immensely reassuring, and made it very clear that I did not need to worry; secondly, she went above and beyond in responding to my emails, making time for Zoom calls (I am in the US), and providing trustworthy help about the steps I should take. I found Mather & Murray Financial through the Unbiased website. I had a pension that I needed help with and Stephen did! They are able to offer all types of financial advice and they are authorised by the FCA. Definitely would recommend.
